today BLOWS

it started off with one kid falling off the bed... then the other got hold of my razor and cut up her little fingers... then I realized that I've lost my phone yesterday at the park and unless some good soul brought it to the lost & found - I'm without a phone for a week or so... then we dropped off Amelia at her playdate (this is good thing) and as we walked into Lowes for little shopping, R. got a phone call and he needed to go to hospital (on call). On the way home, Karolina fell asleep for 5 minutes and now she is full of energy again, running around half naked because... why not! and it is only 1 PM.... what else will happen today?
SERENITY NOW...

love blogs

so I decided that I love blogs. They connect me with people I thought I would never connect. I don't follow people I don't know because I don't see a point in that. i want to know what is going on in lives people I DO know. I have so much going on that following strangers simply doesn't fit my.. lets call it schedule.

Update - FINALLY! (tylko po angielsku, bo nie chce mi sie tlumaczyc)

Wow, I cannot believe that it's been six months since I've updated the blog. I will blame it all on lil' Ray! Why? Why not? :-) I'm not sure where to start... Let's start with the fact that the girls absolutely looove thier brother! they got into habit now that when they leave the car to go to school they give each other kisses and give him one (or two) too! Karolina even climbs on the seat to ensure that she is not kissing the air! Since we are family of 5 now, we needed to upgrade cars - so I no longer drive my Mazda which I really liked A LOT and now I have VW Routan. Ray was funny and kind of surprised me with it. He came one day home and handed me piece of paper (earlier that day he called and said he got parking ticket). I remember saying, "great, one more thing for me to take care of :-)). Instead, it was a contract for the new car! I had to wait for it for 2 days because the dealership needed it to bring in from Columbia, SC to Mount Pleasant but the car is niiiiiceeee. Amelia loves it because it has DVD player with 2 screens. Amelia did not do summer camp this year and she did not like it. She was missing her friends so we had a lot of playdates instead. Also, she totally fell in love with Anna, our neighbor. She came over couple of times to help me out with the kids in the summer because otherwise we would have been stuck in the house all the time. Karolina is a curious toddler and it was really hard to keep up with her and take care for Ray at the same time. So Anna saved our summer. We were able to go to the pool and shopping and stuff. And I was able to keep my sanity, somewhat :-) Then we went to Germany and Poland… all 5 of us. And that was a trip. It started with the passports… I applied for Karolina and Ray the same day. I took them to the post office to take pictures. Karolina was not a problem, she stood up and even smiled. Ray on the other hand… Well, he didn’t keep his head up to well yet so it was hard to take a good picture because they have to be on the white background and have their eyes open… well, lets just say they a 4 week old baby did not cooperate. Well to make the long story short, we got lil’ Ray’s passport 5 days before our departure… We arrived in Cologne, rented car, went to the wedding-we did it all. Amelia found new best friends-Caro and Roman. I’m pretty sure that every other of their wedding pictures has Amelia in it. After a week in Germany, we went to Poland to visit babcia and dziadek and uncle Jacek and aunt Ania. Again, the girls had a blast and enjoyed the break from the SC heat. All this time I was afraid if Amelia would talk in Polish and after a couple of days, she was! And she got pretty good. She mixed the languages of course, but even if you didn’t speak English, you could have a conversation with her. Babcia and dziadek came back with us to the US and stayed with us till the school started in the middle of August. Amelia went back to Sundrops Montessori and Karolina started going to Stepping Stones daycare. Sundrops will take her once she is potty trained and over 2 years old so that way the girls can be together which means less driving for me. Well, I don’t drive as much this time because we started carpooling with two girls –Sophie and Gabby from Amelia’s school. Last year Amelia was jealous of the kids that were carpooling because she thought that they were having playdates all the time and she wanted to go too. The girls are in school from 8 till 2 which gives me some time to do things and I get to spend some alone time with lil Ray. He has changed so much! He sits up in the stroller, high chair or on the couch like a pro, but put him on the floor and he automatically falls over. The funny thing he does not touch the back of the chairs when he sits up, so he really sits by himself, so you would think he would do the same on the floor, but no. He doesn’t want to sit, instead he crawls all over the place. Looves to pull on the cords and table cloths… I have to baby proof the whole house-again :-).
We had a lot of fun for Halloween, first one for Ray. It was really hot which is really bizarre for me. All I could think of was the fact that November 1st in Poland is the “parade” of the fur coats to the cemetery. Women will take out their coats to show them off because you tend to see a lot of people that day and it is usually cold enough. Yet, here we are, in our t-shirts, shorts and flip flops. So now it is mid-November. We are still wearing t-shirts, but more often than not I’m opting for long pants nowadays. The days are short (its dark at 6.30!) which makes it easier to put the kids to bed, but I miss the sun. I came to realization that SC might not have the “typical” seasons like, but it has its own. There is the windy season in the spring, and the wet season in the fall. Of course the HOT HOT HOT season in the summer (otherwise known as beach season) and the “I don’t need a jacket” season in late winter. I really cannot decide if I like SC for its weather simply because I have had 4 seasons all my life and this is an adjustment bigger than I would ever expected to be.
My new passion now is to take pictures, but to really get this right I need a good camera. Our 7 year old Nikon and 6 year old Sony gave up all at once. I replaced it with Nikon Coolpix S710 but I need more professional one. Can’t really decide on what to get but whatever I end up getting, I will also sign up for some lessons on how to use the thing so I can really get a grip on it. Even with the little one I was able to take some cute shots of Ray. He is the best target because he doesn’t move as fast as the other two and he is almost always in good mood, unlike the other two :-).
Well, this is it for now. I also posted a whole bunch of random pictures from the last couple of months – enjoy if you haven’t already seen them on Facebook – my obsession… but that’s a different story…
